About Assure Legal

Assure Legal was created in 2013 by Lawyer, Chris Boys. He realised that there was a lack of specialist insurance lawyers who were serving claimants, rather than the insurance companies, and that the traditional law firm billing structures were not affordable or cost effective for a number of private clients.

Before practicing as a lawyer Chris worked as a commercial claims handler for several large New Zealand insurers, and in London as a Lloyd's broker. Since becoming a lawyer, Chris has worked for the Insurance and Savings Ombudsman, and as a Barrister and Solicitor for a niche civil litigation firm, handling personal injury, employment and insurance cases.

Chris handles cases and appears in the High Court, and District Court. He has extensive experience and a proven track record in obtaining favourable settlements through mediation or negotiation. His skills and experience enable you to find the best solution to your legal problems.

We support

In New Zealand we are blessed with easy access to the mountains, the rivers, and the sea. Our landscape and environment are a huge part of who we are as New Zealanders.
Assure Legal supports Trailfund, which provides mountainbike access and infrastructure throughout New Zealand.
I believe that insurance is a good thing, it provides the ability for people who have suffered loss to get back on their feet. But, for your insurer, it is a business. The job of the people handling your claim, from the voice on the end of the line to the loss adjuster they appoint, is to settle your claim as cheaply as possible and they are good at it, this is a commercial reality. At Assure Legal, I want to address the imbalance. Chris Boys
